Friday March 22nd our sister company will be celebrating its twenty-fifth anniversary. What started as a cheerful experiment has become a serious, professional company. Join us and smile...
How it started…
During his studies in classical piano at the conservatory in The Hague, Tim Várdy regularly visited the North Sea Jazz Festival and noticed that there were several halls without seating. This gave him the idea for a lightweight and sustainable cardboard stool that is easy to print and easy to take with you. Tim sought help from an industrial designer and the FestivalChair was born!
The FestivalChair quickly grew into an original marketing tool that was embraced by the international events world. The stool also won several awards, including the Red Dot Design Award. Because visitors often took the stylish stool home with them, Tim came up with the idea of a consumer version: the Dutch Design Chair, which found its way to the public at home and abroad from 2011 onwards.
Still alive and kicking…!
After all these years, the FestivalChair is still innovative, inspiring and multi-purpose, the stool to make an event unforgettable and sparkling. We are still regularly surprised by the creative applications that our customers come up with with this simple, solid cardboard stool. Be inspired by twenty-five years of FestivalChairs!
